The silver lining here is that Amazon has been quick to acknowledge the issue, and has released a few statements so far to assuage Android 12 users. What this means is that applications downloaded on the Amazon Appstore won’t launch and Android users will have to download them from the Google Play Store. However, despite its open source credentials, the Amazon Appstore, which hosts over half a million applications for Amazon’s Fire OS operating system, is struggling to run on the new mobile OS. The current version of Google’s operating system, Android 12, was made generally available in early October. ![]() The Amazon Appstore on Android 12 is said to be fully broken, with reports of continuous crashes and issues filling the Amazon support site.
